Hello! I'm Brenda and am originally from Canada. I am an ESL teacher with a 150-hour TESOL certificate from Arizona State University.
I have taught English online for nearly 2 years, however, I have been a teacher for well over half my life in both dance and the fitness industry!
Recently I moved to a country where I am also learning a foreign language, Portuguese! The culture is completely different than Canada and England, where I have also lived. We take so much for granted when communicating and living in our mother tongue.
I am very passionate about teaching and helping you achieve your goals in learning English. I can happily adapt to a student's individual needs. I believe as a teacher, I am a guide. My teaching purpose, therefore, is to help guide and inspire students on their journey of learning the English language out of their comfort zone to be the best they can be. My goal is to guide English language learners of all levels to acquire the skills necessary to be able to fly on their own. Success to me will be seeing a student gain confidence and acquire skills to use the English language fluently in the real world. Mi enfoque de enseñanza es una combinación del enfoque directo y comunicativo. Como profesor que se siente cómodo y ha adoptado un estilo de enseñanza conversacional, creo que esta es la forma más eficaz de motivar a una clase. A modo de facilitar una conversación, o una discusión, que implique el intercambio de ideas, incita a un mayor nivel de comprensión y aprendizaje. El enfoque comunicativo puede resultar difícil para los estudiantes que están acostumbrados al enfoque más tradicional o directo a través de conferencias y evaluaciones mediante exámenes. En el enfoque comunicativo, las respuestas de la vida real o cotidianas. Por lo tanto, los estudiantes se sienten motivados a aprender al estar motivados a comunicarse de manera significativa sobre temas significativos.
Adaptaré mis lecciones a tus necesidades y objetivos específicos. También puedo ayudarte si te estás preparando para algún examen de inglés, dando una presentación en inglés, ayudándote con entrevistas de trabajo o simplemente quieres mejorar tus habilidades de conversación para viajar o para ti mismo.
