About me

Hello! My name is Sophie, I am an English teacher at a university in France. My passion is improving people's confidence in spoken English, so classes with me will be fun, informal and dynamic! I have worked as an English teacher in France for two years, and previously worked in schools in Italy and as a journalist at Scottish newspapers. With a first class honours degree in French language and literature from Edinburgh University, I understand the process of learning a new language. The students are at the heart of my lessons; I take an interest in my students lives, and work to understand what they need from me as a teacher. We will discuss in class topics that interest you and play games to help keep students motivated and engaged. My university students say that their confidence in speaking English has grown as a result of the classes. With my experience studying, working and living in France, I also tutour GCSE, A-Level, Higher and Advanced Higher French students.
