About me

Hello, my name is Keysha. I have been studying and living in the United States, so my English is native. I love travelling and learning new languages as I find it amazing to be able to communicate with people from all over the world. I would love for you to have that passion for languages and if you don't already have it I would be happy to show you the usefulness of languages and their charm. I have been teaching for two years. I have taught English and other subjects such as Maths, Spanish and Natural Sciences, among others. I obtained the First Certificate, i.e. B2, two years ago, before going to study in the United States. During my lessons I only speak in English because I believe that it is the best way to learn a language, listening to it all the time. If my students don't understand a word I explain it to them with a simpler vocabulary, using gestures or drawings, that together with the context makes them understand the word I was saying at the beginning. Each student is unique, that's why I like to observe their way of learning, understanding and associating concepts. Some people are more visual and understand things by looking at them or relating them to images. Others are more auditory and are guided by what they hear. My classes are usually very dynamic, I do a lot of exercises which I combine with reading aloud to improve pronunciation and listening. I like to play songs and make my students understand them and write the lyrics themselves, I find it a fun way to practice vocabulary, writing and listening all at the same time.
