Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn.
- Benjamin Franklin
I am a native English teacher from the USA, with more than 17 years of teaching experience.
I believe in an active learning approach, where the students actively participate in the classes through conversation and interactive learning.
I believe in adapting to the student’s needs and interests to keep the student intrinsically motivated and excited about learning.
I believe in creating a relaxed, conducive learning atmosphere during my classes, therefore putting the student at ease and helping them to feel open to sharing thoughts and ideas without worrying about making mistakes, and utilizing mistakes as a learning point.
I believe in making the classes practical and useful, learning new vocabulary, grammar, expressions, etc. about content that is used in your everyday life.
Learning a language is not about just passing an exam, or advancing to the next level. It’s a tool you will use for your future, that will open doors to new opportunities and new experiences, and that has the possibility to take you places you would have never imagined, both personally and professionally.
Speaking a language is different from studying a language, which is why I emphasize speaking and natural communication skills in my classes. Through this communicative and practical approach, you will come away from each class with new vocabulary and expressions useful to your everyday life. Most importantly, by putting emphasis on communication, you will build confidence in yourself and your abilities when using English.
I have experience teaching all levels of English learners, from beginners to advanced, and successfully preparing for all types of exams, FCE, CAE, Proficiency, TOEFL, IELTS, EOI. I have extensive experience in business English, ranging from all backgrounds, as well as preparation for interviews, presentations, and public speaking.
My classes are fun, dynamic, motivating, and practical, and a one-hour class will feel like 10 minutes. New vocabulary, grammar, and error correction through conversation are key to learning new concepts as well as implementing interactive learning and memorization tools such as Kahoot, Quizlet, and Anki.
I love watching my students learn and grow. To be an integral part of the process to help someone pass an exam, get into a University, give a successful presentation, or even get the job of one’s dreams, is an amazing feeling that continues to motivate me to be the best teacher I can be.
