PhD in Finance, McGill Univ - Master in Financial Math, U of Chicago - CPA - Full Prof Austral Univ - Financial consultant and developer of pricing and risk management models - 17+ years of teaching experience and 10+ years in the financial industry (investment banking, valuation of companies, debt restructuring, bonds, derivatives, risk management, portfolio management, financial econometrics) as a full-time officer or consultant and quantitative developer. After my bachelor's degree in financial accountancy and economics, and public accountant certification, I obtained a Master's Degree in Finance. A lecturer in that program was an investment banker. He hired me to work with him in the Latin American Investment Banking Group of Banque Nationale de Paris. There I acted as a quantitative analyst of bonds, derivatives, and investment portfolios under the director of trading and in the valuation of companies, debt restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions under the director of corporate finance. I quit my full-time job in the bank to work as a lecturer at Universidad Austral while still working for the bank one day a week. I wrote the teaching material for all my classes. I also started to teach Financial Derivatives in a Master of Finance program at Universidad de San Andrés. A local oil company I had advised in price risk management and Universidad Austral funded my studies at the University of Chicago. After that, the Institute of Financial Mathematics of Montreal (IFM2) funded my doctoral studies. My thesis was awarded inclusion in the Dean's Honor List. In total, I lived for 5.5 years in the USA and Canada with English-speaking people while attending classes and writing my thesis in English. Back in Argentina, I taught at the universities mentioned above for 12 years and became a Full Professor at Austral University, where I held the ROFEX Chair of Derivatives (ROFEX is a futures and options exchange). I had my research published in top-five academic journals of finance. Now, I work as a freelance financial advisor and quantitative developer, and I enjoy teaching online.
