As a Tshwane University of Technology graduate in officiating and coaching science, I can sum up my degree as follows: Being an official in charge of something, especially a sporting event, is called officiating. Giving people training or assistance in getting ready for something is the job or activity of coaching. As my passion for teaching expanded over the years, I worked for almost two years as an English mentor and teacher assistant for students ages eight to sixteen. It was the most rewarding job I had ever had. In addition, I have three years of experience as a trained Leadership Development Facilitator. Facilitating is the practice of helping individuals or groups gain the knowledge and abilities necessary for leadership through a process that is always experiential and involves taking action. In this context, facilitators are seen more as guides and aids during a discovery process. Learning takes place along the process through experience. My passion for instructing, assisting, and mentoring others is very important to me; it has given me the ability to be a leader and has greatly aided in my understanding of how individuals from various nations, backgrounds, and cultures can come together and learn to accept one another for who they are.
