My name is Ann and I am a retired consultant ecologist with 6 years teaching experience in secondary schools in the UK and Switzerland; 5 years demonstrator experience (practical demonstrator work; lecturing; tutorials and exam marking) at Keele University and several years experience providing private tuition to A level students. Throughout my broad working experience which has included working as a scuba diving instructor; ecological researcher and finally working as a consultant ecologist, I never stopped teaching and coaching whether it was ecological survey techniques to work colleagues or sea life identification to trainee divers! I also have experience as an A-level assessor for Edexcel, marking final exams. I have a huge enthusiasm for my subject and a talent for helping people make sense of complex concepts. My focus is on the needs of the individual and presentation of the topic to their best advantage.

Ann is brilliant ! Ann helped me through a difficult time in my final years of high school when I was struggling with very low self confidence and a lack of support. She gave me the encouragement and support I needed to succeed with my school exams. Beyond this she shared with me her fascination and enthusiasm for all things biology/ecology which inspired me to go on to study biology at university. She gave me the confidence and practical tools I needed to succeed in my studies and which I have carried with me beyond education and into my career in forensic science.
