My Approach to Tutoring and How I Teach My Classes: Teaching Techniques and Methodology: My teaching style is rooted in active learning and a conversational flow between student and tutor. This helps solidify their understanding and highlights areas that may need revisiting. I utilize modern, peer-reviewed research-based methods proven to dramatically enhance students’ success in exams, ensuring that they are fully prepared not only for tests but also for the challenges of university and industry. I believe in tailoring each lesson to the student’s learning style, whether it’s visual aids, interactive discussions, or problem-solving exercises. My real-world experience in the pharmaceutical industry allows me to give students practical insights, making biology more relatable and engaging. Typical Length of a Lesson: A typical lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. This allows enough time to thoroughly cover key concepts, practice problem-solving, and review material through active recall and discussion. Qualifications/Experience: I graduated from the University of Limerick with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Biochemistry and have six years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry as a validation engineer. In addition to my industry experience, I am completing my Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt training, further refining my problem-solving and process improvement skills. I achieved the top grade in Biology in my Leaving Cert, ranking first in my school, and I have extensive experience mentoring and teaching employees within the industry. Who the Lessons Are For: I offer personalised biology tutoring for High-School students preparing for all levels of High-School exams. My lessons are tailored for students aged 15-18, helping them grasp complex biological concepts, build confidence, and achieve top exam results. Whether students are struggling with certain topics or looking to excel, I ensure they have the tools they need to succeed academically and beyond.
