After finishing piano studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Oviedo with Honors and End of Degree Award, I began to be interested in teaching by taking the Master's Degree in Teacher Training, which has been useful when dealing with students of different ages and characteristics, and adapt to their needs. In addition, I continue my training as a teacher with the Mother Language Methodology (Suzuki), which encourages self-learning and ear development.
My restless nature also made me enter fully into the world of contemporary and improvised music, helped by pianists such as Jacobo de Miguel, Manel Camp or Emilio Molina; and of course a lot of experimentation and personal study. I always try to give my students this point of view which unfortunately is often so neglected.
During all these years I have worked with students of a very wide age range, from three-year-olds to those on their seventies. Each one has different interests and characteristics that have given me a great experience in the teaching field.
In addition, due to my interest in learning about my instrument in depth, I have completed postgraduate studies in piano tuning and maintenance at the Miguel de Cervantes European University.
Musical projects:
In the jazz field, I am a pianist with the VavTrío group, with whom I have recorded an album, Prelude. I am also a pianist and arranger for Quilombo Bacano, an eclectic ensemble that mixes world music, popular, improvised and classical, giving rise to a personal style. I currently participate as a pianist and arranger in musical projects such as the Siero Chamber Orchestra, groups like Mingote or Maimuny (with whom I am currently arranging and recording), or the singer and songwriter Pico, with whom we have recently won the 40 Principales Asturias contest.
As a teacher I offer:
-Initiation, perfection, support or preparation for exams (classical piano)
-Jazz and improvisation
-Modern piano (pop-rock)
-Harmony / musical language / analysis
