Hi, I’m Xing from Shanghai. Maybe I will be your future Chinese teacher.
I’m a qualified teacher, I have the “Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages”, and I also have a Mandarin proficiency test certificate to prove that my Mandarin is very standard. China has 34 provincial-level administrative regions, different regions have different dialects. Our pronunciation of mandarin is easily affected by dialects. You do not want to have a teacher with strong accent, right?
I like Chinese tradional culture, and i like Chinese calligraphy, painting and tea ceremony. I think language and culture are inseparable. I have study experience in Britain, and have more than 10 years’ work experience in American and European companies. I know the culture difference and I am always very happy to take my foreign colleagues to experience Chinese culture, and they all enjoy it.
Before we start the class, I would like to ask you 3 questions:
1. Have you learned Chinese before? How long have you learned?
2. what kind of learning material do you use?
3. why do you want to learn Chinese? (the most important)
The answers to these questions will help me to know your current Chinese level and what learning material we are going to use.
Regarding learning material, we have a lot of choices. For adult, we can use HSK textbooks, which is the most authoritative Chinese learning materials that divided into 6 levels. Or we can use “Developing Chinese” textbooks. If you want to focus on spoken Chinese, we can use “Short-term spoken Chinese” or “New target Chinese spoken language”. If you want to do business in China, we can use “Business Chinese”. I can also teach kids to learn Chinese, and there are many textbooks as well, such as “ Chines Paradise”、“Easy steps to Chinese for Kids” and “YCT”. Or we can even use Chinese textbooks which Chinese kids use at school. In the classroom, I adhere to the principle of student-centered teaching and the practical teaching method. Strengthen cyclic memory and guide students to review in class.
If I become your Chinese teacher, for me, you are not only my student, but also my friend. In class, we practice speaking, listening and reading, and you can ask me any question you are interested about China in class or after class.
There are two Chinese sayings: 千里之行始于足下A thousand miles begins with a single step “ 有志者事竟成“ Where there's a will, there's a way. Come, and book a trial lesson! See you in the classroom!
