Hello! I'm José Ramón, an engineer and programmer with many years of experience. I remain passionate about Computer Science and Programming.
Currently (2025), I have a student in the first year of the Computer Engineering degree. I teach him C++. Besides that, I occasionally mentor - in English - various languages (mainly Java) on the Exercism platform.
-------------------
I firmly believe that a teacher should instill curiosity and critical thinking in the student. These qualities transcend any field of knowledge, as they are important for life. After more than ten years as a programmer in various companies and with different languages (C, C++, Python, Java, Kotlin, etc.), I have concluded that what I enjoy most is Teaching Programming.
My technique is based on two methods:
- Structured learning. I explain concepts as they are needed or when the student asks.
- Project-based learning.
It's very important to let the student make mistakes and learn to express themselves using programming terms. At more advanced levels, I emphasize the relationship between different programming languages.
My classes can help students in Computer Science Degrees or Vocational Training, novice programmers, or someone who is making their website or interacting with an Artificial Intelligence assistant.
