I have developed a distinguished career as an evaluation juror in major calls within the musical and artistic fields. In 2024, I served as a Jury Member for the Artistic Training Grant of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge, where I carried out a comprehensive analysis of the submitted projects, focusing on feasibility, trajectory, and creative relevance. I evaluated the feasibility and sustainability of the proposals, ensuring compliance with technical and financial requirements, as well as assessing the participants’ experience and the originality of their proposals.
In 2023, I was also a Jury Member for the Musical Training Composition Award "Vamos a la Filarmónica" of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra, where I conducted an in-depth analysis of the submitted works, considering both quantitative and qualitative aspects. I evaluated musical styles, performance feasibility, coherence and innovation in musical language, and the accurate notation of scores, contributing to the selection of the winning compositions.
As a composer, I seek to transcend the boundaries of traditional genres, using music as a means to convey ideas and emotions in various formats, from jazz ensembles to compositions for audiovisual media. In 2021, my piece (Cero)Tonina was awarded in the Young Composers Call of the Banco de la República, allowing me to consolidate my trajectory in composition and share my work with a broader audience.
In addition to my experience in evaluation and composition, I have worked in music education, designing pedagogical methodologies and teaching materials in various institutions as well as independently. I have developed curricula by structuring content, pedagogical sequences, and innovative methodologies that integrate digital technologies, workshops, and collaborative projects. Since 2012, I have taught electric guitar with a personalized approach focused on musical initiation, theory, and solfeggio, ensuring comprehensive training for my students.
As an instrumentalist, I have explored the hybrid guitar—an innovative instrument in the country that combines guitar and bass—broadening its expressive and sonic possibilities. This pursuit has led me to develop a versatile interpretive approach, blending influences from jazz, academic music, and contemporary soundscapes. My experience as a performer complements my work as a composer and educator, allowing me to approach music from a holistic perspective.
My experience and knowledge enable me to contribute a comprehensive vision to the development of musical projects, combining creativity, academic rigor, and a deep understanding of music in its diverse manifestations.
