Hi everyone! Bonjour à tous !
My name is Christelle, I'm a native French PhD in Earth Sciences, and I’d love to be your new French teacher!
Being a very empathetic person, I am particularly keen on helping you achieve your goals and overcome your difficulties with the French language in a judgement-free, and supportive environment.
I try to make my lessons as fun and personalized as possible, based on your interests and needs.
I can help you with grammar rules, idioms commonly used in the language, or any other request, such as organizing a trip to France, writing manuscripts...
If you want to know more about me:
I'm passionate about Earth and nature as a whole; but also about many other things such as music, literature and writing. I have been writing stories in French and English since my childhood. I also love to travel and learn about new countries, through their language, culture, history or cooking habits...
After graduating with a Master's degree in geosciences, I went on to do a PhD, specializing in seismic hazards and tectonics in northern Tibet, and published several texts in scientific journals. This gave me the opportunity to not only tutor and co-supervise students of different levels, both French and foreign, but also to travel and live abroad, which has led me to experience new languages. I obtained in 2015 a Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) from the Cambridge English Language Assessment, and have been living amongst international communities since then. I also speak a little bit of German.
I am looking forward to meeting you soon! Please don’t hesitate to write me a message if you have any question!

My Methods:
I prefer first discussing your goals and expectations for the courses during the trial lessons, and then create and adapt my classes to your interests and needs.
In terms of materials:
- Some of the resources I use are from the internet and can be easily accessible for you as well.
- I also use published textbooks and other documents as a basis for grammar rules.
Based on your level and goals, you can expect activities such as:
- Casual conversation in each of the classes
- Conversation on specific topics
- Pronunciation practice
- Listening comprehension based on audio files and transcription texts
- Reading and writing short texts
- Reading comprehension (answering questions, multiple choice tests, etc.)
- Language-related games/activities of different kinds (guessing words, card games, song transcription…)
- Vocabulary and grammar lessons
- Learning about the French culture
In addition, I can also help you prepare exams, write essays, letters, emails and more…
If you feel like practicing the French language not only in the classes but also in everyday life, I’d be happy to suggest you books and comics to read, songs, movies or TV shows to watch, and even homework to do (but not too much!) to improve even more!
