How to know my level of English

The four skills of a language are speaking, listening, reading and writing. That's why official English exams are divided into these four tests: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Passing them will give you a European qualification at one of four levels: beginner (A1/A2), intermediate (B1/B2) or advanced (C1/C2). But do you know what level you are at now? You can easily find out by taking our online English test.

This test accurately assesses the four skills you need to master the language. There are 20 multi-choice multiple-choice questions that will only take you 10 minutes. Afterwards, if you wish, you can move on to the speaking test. Don't worry, there's no time limit! So you can take as much time as you want to think about your answers.

The most demanded level is B1, as it is the level required for most training courses and one of the basic competences requested by companies. Having a B1 certificate can open many job opportunities. If you want to check if you would pass the exam, take the online B1 English test.

Before you take the English level test, you should know that...

  • It is completely free
  • The written test consists of 20 multi-choice questions of varying difficulty.
  • It lasts approximately 10 minutes, although you can take as long as you like.
  • For the oral test, you need to have a microphone at your disposal (including your mobile phone).
  • The test will give you the result according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

French is evaluated, in the same way, at the six levels of the CEFR for languages: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2; with the particularity that the first four levels are grouped in what is called the DELF certification and the last two, the advanced levels, in the DALF. Although there are more official exams, these are the most common and recognised.

Test your level of Italian

The CELI (Certificazione della Lingua Italiana) is, in the case of Italian, the title that certifies your level in this language and, as for other languages, there are six of them.  However, these official exams are different from those for English and French in that they do not assess four skills, but five: oral expression, oral comprehension, written expression, lexical and morphosyntactic skills and reading comprehension.

In addition, unlike other official exams, it is essential to pass all parts. If one or more parts are not passed, it will not be possible to obtain the diploma. However, it is possible to retake the failed parts in the same year without having to sit the whole exam again.

What level would you be able to pass? Take the online Italian test.
