Hi everyone! My name is Karen Connell. I come from Scotland, United Kingdom. I have an MA degree in languages from the University of Glasgow and a PGDE(Post Graduate Diploma in Education) from the University of Strathclyde. I lived and worked in Bogota, Colombia for 5 years teaching English in universities, and private companies and I even started my own online English school during the pandemic. I returned to Glasgow, UK in 2022 to under my PDGE to teach Spanish and French in Scotland. Therefore, I have a wealth of experience teaching languages in many different settings and across a range of ages. I am an experienced teacher and have therefore learned how to plan my lessons to meet the needs of each student. Every class with me is different considering that students have many different reasons for improving their level of English and have different end goals. For example, my methodology starts with talking to the student first in order to understand their needs, why they are learning English and what their goals are. From there, I can start to plan the structure of the class which will be catered to the individual student. My classes are interactive with an emphasis on conversation even when the class is focused on grammar. I offer a free trial class so that we can get to know each other first and I can answer any questions or doubts you may have. See you soon!

J'aime réaliser mes cours en fonction des besoins de chaque élève. Chaque classe avec moi est différente étant donné que les étudiants ont de nombreuses raisons différentes pour améliorer leur niveau d'anglais et ont des objectifs finaux différents. Par exemple, ma méthodologie commence par parler d'abord à l'élève afin de comprendre ses besoins, pourquoi il apprend l'anglais et quels sont ses objectifs. À partir de là, je peux commencer à planifier la structure de la classe qui sera adaptée à chaque élève. Mes cours sont interactifs et mettent l'accent sur la conversation même lorsque le cours est axé sur la grammaire.
