I would love for you to interview me to find out if I can help you. With this in mind (and if you have time), follow these steps so that we get the most out of the interview:
1) Organize and upload your materials to the cloud (G-Drive, Box, etc.)
2) Include some assignments, SOLUTIONS and PRACTICE EXAMS (very recommended), photos, documents, web sites, links, etc., related to the material you are studying and/or that you will be studying SOON
3) Try to include your course syllabus (if you have one)
4) If you do not have a syllabus, include a document indicating the textbooks you are using (title, author, edition, etc.)
5) Send me a message and provide the link to your materials in the cloud, so I take a quick look and have a more productive interview
those steps will greatly improve your chances of a tutor accepting to work with you in ADVANCED or UNCOMMON subjects. Believe it or not, tutors do NOT know everything! But in my case, I am able to read and synthesize new knowledge and make it palatable for my for students. That is where those 5 steps come into the equation.
A little more about me:
During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a tutor, instructor assistant, science lab assistant, curriculum developer, and computer programming instructor at six educational institutions located in five countries, teaching hundreds of students from many diverse countries and cultures. Professionally, I worked as an Engineer/Programmer-Analyst for companies and educational institutions in the public and private sectors.
My tutoring style is very practical and to the point, with an emphasis on using technology and the Internet to get the job done through visualization, real-world examples, and ingenuity. I try to avoid memorization and repetition as much as possible and instead focus on teaching my students general key concepts that they can use in all of their technical classes.
I have tutored students as young as 8 years old to professional adults 60 and over. Most of my students come from their high school seniors to college juniors. Also throughout the year I have several adorable high school students, very dedicated young adults in master's or doctorate degrees, and distinguished seniors changing careers or picking up a new hobby.
My main goal is to teach my students to think in a general, inductive and original way so that they can apply those same skills to any facet of their academic work and their lives. Some tutors solve exercises for their student, other tutors teach how to solve specific exercises, etc. My goal is to teach my students how to solve any exercise, but more than anything, show them how to teach themselves thus becoming autodidacts!
