Hi there! My name is Alexandra-Claire and I am a Canadian-Greek English tutor living in the Netherlands. Alongside music, knitting, and cats, languages are my passion. Sharing this passion with others and encouraging them to discover their own relationship with their target language has been the most meaningful calling for the past 12 years, and one I hope to continue exploring.
I have been teaching English for the past 12 years, both as a freelancer and as part of a learning institution. My most recent experience has been working with students aiming at obtaining Cambridge Certificates of English, English for academic purposes, and English for professionals.

I am an economist, risk and compliance consultant and teacher of Latin, Greek and mathematics.
I graduated in business economics and management from Bocconi in 2016, I obtained a Master's degree in European Studies in 2017 and a master's degree in International Relations in 2018 from LUISS. My work experience develops in consultancy, mainly technology and audit, and in 2013 my teaching adventure began between Rome and Milan, immediately after finishing high school. Since then I have had the privilege of working with students of all ages, coming from different parts of Italy.
My experience has taught me that each student is unique, with their own strengths and challenges, and this has helped me develop a personalized approach to tailoring lessons to each student's specific needs.
My lessons are held both individually and in groups, from middle schools to university students and then to couples of adults who simply want to integrate their training to discover the deep roots of the language that we all speak today.
I am excited to share my passion for these classical languages with students who wish to learn them or improve their skills. I have dedicated many years to the study and teaching of Latin and Greek and believe that these languages offer a unique opportunity to explore the culture, literature and philosophy of antiquity.
I consider myself a very precise and organized person in my working method, flexible and available to meet the different needs of my students, pursuing your goal together: making friends through Latin!

Sono un Docente di ruolo, con più di quindici anni di esperienza nella scuola e nel campo delle lezioni private: Italiano, Latino, Greco. Le mie lezioni partono dall’osservazione delle potenzialità e difficoltà dello studente, per arrivare poi a calibrare interventi mirati con apposite esercitazioni, scritte ed orali. Impartisco lezioni private in Latino e Greco, nelle materie letterarie e in Italiano, con percorsi per lo sviluppo ed il consolidamento della lingua scritta, per la quale mi pregio di avere il titolo di giornalista pubblicista ( ho scritto su diversi periodici) e di essere anche uno scrittore ( saggi letterari, racconti e poesie, per i quali ho avuto più di un riconoscimento ufficiale ). Ho sperimentato percorsi di scrittura creativa, in forma collettiva e privata.
Impartisco, da anni, lezioni private ad alunni delle scuole medie e superiori, a studenti universitari e ad adulti. Ho fornito diverse consulenze per la redazione o la revisione di testi scritti (dalla narrativa alla poesia alle tesi di laurea), anche in lingua latina. Da più di qualche anno oramai, anche in considerazione dell'emergenza legata al CoronaVirus, utilizzo la metodologia delle lezioni online (con diverse piattaforme) che risulta essere, oltre che più sicura, anche più comoda e flessibile soprattutto per gli studenti, i quali dimostrano di apprezzarla sempre di più.
Attualmente sono dottorando (dall'anno 2020) presso l'Università degli Studi di Basilicata (Storia ,Cultura e Saperi dell'Europa mediterranea, dall'Antichità all'Età Contemporanea), con un progetto di ricerca in Storia romana che si occupa di migrazioni, mobilità e percezione dell'alterità nell'antica Roma.

Ho frequentato il liceo classico, e nonostante i miei studi abbiano preso un percorso diverso, ho sempre mantenuto interesse per latino e greco, che ho sempre cercato di curare, grazie soprattutto al fatto che nel corso degli anni ho sempre seguiti studenti e studentesse per aiutarli nello studio di queste due lingue difficili ma molto affascinanti.
