About me

Hello! My name is Valentina, I’m a 33 year old scientific writer and art conservator eager to start this new experience with you! I grew up in the iconic island of Venice, Italy, in a very international setting, always surrounded by people from different countries and cultures. Growing up in an international household, my mum is Austrian, I soon developed a knack for languages and most importantly, for travelling. Since when graduating high school, I’ve lived in several countries, including the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and Malta, where I am currently based. During my last few years in the Netherlands I worked as a researcher and teaching assistant for the University of Amsterdam, an experience that sparked my interests for teaching. I believe learning a new language is a tricky task and my aim is to make this process fun and interactive. Get in touch with me if you wish to boost your English, especially if you’re looking to improve academic writing and speaking, both conversational and business related or if you need to obtain an English language certificate (such as IELTS or TOEFL) to access a university course. I have established a set of tricks and habits that I believe will enhance your writing and speaking skills. Most importantly, these strategies will kick start a new mentality in which you’ll learn a language by internalising grammar, sentence structures and vocabulary. Consequently, my classes will prioritise your needs and objectives. My teaching method is based on providing a constructive approach in a non-judgmental space, where you will be able to safely explore and expand your potential. I feel ostensibly against the ‘no pain no gain ‘mentality, so expect a light and a fun environment.
