Graphic design classes: theory and practice of visual communication.
I have always had a keen interest in teaching and while I was studying my diploma (and later degree) in graphic design at art school I was able to give support classes to classmates who were struggling with some subjects. I have also always been good at public speaking and communication, and I have been a lecturer on several occasions, so I feel very comfortable teaching and am inspired to share my knowledge.
I would like to support and help anyone who is interested in learning to design, providing a value that is not in the software tutorials on Youtube, but learning how someone who designs has to think: oriented to solving communication problems through the image. I would like to help people not to make the mistakes I made when I was starting out.
I can give theoretical and practical classes on typography, so that you learn the value it brings, its classification and how to distinguish a good from a bad typographic decision and its suitability for your project. I can also teach you how to compose an image correctly, teaching you the basic laws of visual perception and developing exercises to help you improve your ability to compose, so that you understand when and why one image works better than another.
In general, I am comfortable talking about and teaching any area of the foundational principles of design: image theory, effective communication, colour, visual rhetoric, layout, creative briefing, brand strategy or copywriting, but I would also like to teach all the basics of specialising in brand design and editorial design, in which I specialise.
If you want to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, which are three pillars in graphic design software, you can also count on me for that.
I have a wide bibliography in different areas of design, design culture, I pay attention to details and I'm a perfectionist. I can help you develop projects, tutor you and help you to approach them correctly, develop creative strategies and share methods to communicate effectively on a graphic level.
To save you time and make the most of the time available in class, you can send me your questions and problems in advance, so I can anticipate and develop the content with your needs in mind.
