Hello! I am Rasheed Jimoh. I have a degree in Chemistry from the University of Ilorin, and two master's degrees in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Educational Management from the University of Lagos.
For the past 14 years, I have worked in several private and public schools in Lagos. I have vast understanding of the Nigerian and British Curricula and Teaching Standards. My teaching career have been dedicated to preparing students for external examinations such as Cambridge O & A-Levels, IGCSE, IB, WASSCE, University Foundation Exams and achieving excellent results. I teach various aspects of Chemistry to students of diverse age groups, backgrounds, learning abilities and styles. During COVID-19, I honed my digital and creative skills by undergoing several capacity development trainings and workshops. Today, I pride myself in my ability to design captivating lessons and use hands-on activities to retain students' attention till the end of class.
Rather than giving my students ready-made answers to problems, I encourage them to think 🤔 and come up with their own answers, thus developing creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills in them. I adopt an open, transparent and student-centred approach to teaching. I use relatable instructional materials that help my students connect the classroom to the outside world 🌍. I use simple language to explain complex concepts in such a way that my students can remember the topics, long after their examinations have ended. That I ask probing questions, monitor my students' progress and give honest feedbacks to their parents/guardians are some of the unique qualities that keep me ahead of my colleagues.
My strength lies in my ability to tailor my lessons to the needs of my students and make them love my subject. If you are committed to becoming the best version of yourself, I will be happy to help you achieve your goals.
