My name is Adrian Lopez and I am passionate about languages. I like to browse and learn new cultures. Also, I love teaching and helping others.
At first, the study of languages was only an informal pastime; However, over the years, I discovered my ability to learn languages in a self-taught way, so I decided to study French, Italian and Portuguese in this way. I acquired English since I was 4 years old. My education was bilingual, Spanish-English.
I like to teach people and pass on my knowledge, to know that they have someone who can encourage and help them in the sometimes difficult but incredible world of languages, that they know they are not alone. For this reason, I designed a "different" course, to help those who love learning languages as well as me.
The classes taught start from the most basic level up to the advanced level of the language (whether you decide to study French, or Spanish).
The teaching system that I use, is based on four levels (this as far as the grammar is concerned):
1. Level one (word level): At this level, you will learn the most basic elements of the language, such as: nouns, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns (personal, indefinite, interrogative, etc.), conjunctions, verbs (along with all existing verb tenses), among other elements at the word level.
2. Level two (phrase level): At this level, you will learn to form different types of phrases, such as: noun phrases, affirmative sentences, negative, interrogative, adjectival, prepositional, verbal, existential, among others. For this level, it is expected that you have already mastered 80% level one (word level), because level two, is about the union of those words learned in level one, to form sentences.
3. Level three (level of clause or sentence): At this level, you will learn to form different types of sentences and clauses, such as: subordinate sentences, conditional, causal, purpose, among others. For this level, it is expected that you have already mastered at least 80% of level two; since the level three, consists of the union of diverse phrases, to form more complex sentences.
4. Level four (level of speech): At this level there will be no more lessons, but simply conversations between student-teacher to evaluate the progress. Here you will be asked to tell things of daily life and that the student can hold a conversation of at least one hour.
In the process of all this, you will also receive phonics classes of the language that you decide to study. Here, we will work on pronunciation, and through reading, you will improve your phonetic skills and learn to better identify the sounds and words of that language.
As for the acquisition of vocabulary (objects, adjectives and verbs), you can do so by using a technique that involves more the visual and dynamic side, thus avoiding you, the tedious task of memorizing long lists of vocabulary.
It should be noted that this teaching model was the one that helped me learn French, Portuguese and Italian. It was a model that I designed myself in the process of learning these languages. You may have different ways of learning. It does not matter, we can adjust this method to your needs. After all, not because this course has been effective for me or others, it means that it must be effective for you as well. For that reason there is flexibility.
For me it will be a privilege and a pleasure to help you in the process of your learning.
