Hello, I'm Julian and I come from Spain, where I currently live. After my retirement from professional life, I spend my free time enjoying my big passions: sports, jazz music, reading and, of course, learning and teaching foreign languages.
I have been teaching for more than seven years now English to people of different ages (from 15 to 55 years old) who aim to pass a certification test or simply study the language for other reasons.
During my professional life I traveled all over the world using English as a working language, and I was exposed to many people with different native accents (UK, USA, South Africa, Canada, India), as well as many others for whom English was their second language.
I have a CPE certificate from Cambridge English (2020) with an Overall Score of 222/238 and a C2 CEFR (European Union) certificate from the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Madrid.
I also have a B2 certificate in German from the same school and I am currently learning Portuguese (level B1) at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Vigo.
As far as teaching Spanish is concerned, my knowledge of language teaching systems allows me to transfer them directly to the classes of this language, in which I am a native speaker, covering also the peculiarities and differences between European Spanish and Latin American Spanish.
My teaching method is fully adaptative, both in class and in the homework, to your knowledge, needs and preferences: we can follow a specific textbook you already have, or prepare a Spanish certificate exam (from A2 to C2 level), improve your oral communication skills (formal or informal), or improve your oral and/or written comprehension skills if what you mainly want is to watch and understand Spanish and Latin American movies and series and/or enjoy Spanish Literature.
Therefore I encourage you to book a lesson with me so that we can evaluate your level of Spanish and set your learning goals. Afterwards, I am confident that I will continue to be your teacher and I look forward to meeting you!
