I have been an ESL teacher for the last 35 years. I have worked at the University of Carabobo language department and many other institutions here in Venezuela. I have had a lot of experience in teaching Business, Medical, Legal and Technical English from elementary, intermediate to the advanced stages. Also, I have given English Conversational crash courses to professionals who needed to polish their English for specific purposes. My experience as you can see is enormous. I have used lots of different texts from the American English course to Oxford advance English level courses and a lot more. I obtained three gold buttons for my 20 years of service and many other awards for my contribution and dedication to the Universidad of Carabobo. I have also been the mentor in three different publications: Business English, Medical English and Legal English. As you see my experience is overwhelming. I have attended many courses, seminars and workshops for which I have obtained certificates and diplomas in: Teachers’ Induction, Professional Betterment TESOL 97, NLP Neurolinguistic Programming for teachers, Motivation and Phonetics, WRITING: the process, the products and its grading, Didactic Components, Focus on Grammar Interactive, TESOL Institute University of Carabobo/Central University of Venezuela, International ESP Conference, VenTESOL Convention 1991 Venezuela and a TESOLʻ97 Annual Convention. My courses are organized according to the needs of my students and methods of approach in the process of learning are focused on each individual. Repetitions are used as a technique to educate the hearing skills, good pronunciations, comprehension, reading and speaking. It is part of the process of learning, Grammar and writing proceed after these are accomplish. Then the next step is to concentrate on dialogues, role plays and songs and using short sentences to write narrative and descriptive compositions. They help as part of cognitive learning.
