Hello! I was born and raised in France, and in 2010, I successfully completed a baccalaureate in literature. After my baccalaureate, I moved to London to enhance my English skills and pursue my passion for music, particularly singing. Subsequently, I embarked on an Erasmus program in Italy, where I learned Italian. In London, I obtained a degree in Performance. Later, I relocated to Berlin, where I worked as an Aupair and studied German. Although German is my weakest language at a B1 level, I greatly enjoyed the process of preparing for and passing the Goethe Certificates. Throughout my life, I have dedicated significant time to learning languages and exploring different cultures while pursuing my music studies. Over the years, I have developed diverse approaches and methods that have helped me achieve my language learning goals. I am enthusiastic about sharing this experience with my students and assisting them in reaching their own objectives. For the past 15 years, I have taught phonetics to singers at a prestigious London conservatoire. Additionally, I have conducted workshops on French diction in various countries, including Italy, Iceland, Denmark, and Russia. Furthermore, I have developed an app that offers teaching resources, such as videos and tracks, to aid students in improving their diction. Since 2010, both in-person and online, I have taught classes and individual lessons in music and languages, in addition to my positions as a teacher in London schools. Understanding the goals and motivations of learners is crucial for successful lessons. It is essential to determine the amount of time students have available and identify their preferred learning style. Autonomous learners often prefer dense lessons and appreciate receiving homework to complete in their own time between sessions. In such cases, my role primarily involves presenting topics in a coherent order, tailored to the learner's level, and providing ample exercises for practice. I also address questions and focus on aural practice, allowing students to apply what they have learned. On the other hand, some learners require more support and prefer a slower pace, where I carefully follow each step they take. I find equal joy in teaching autonomous students and assisting less experienced learners who benefit from regular encouragement and praise. I am aware that my own knowledge is indebted to teachers who were determined, flexible, and patient, and I strive to emulate their supportive approach as a tutor.
