Hi! I'm Dalma!

I've always been a sensitive and creative person, and for that reason I put emphasis on your emotions and how to convey them.
Singing is not like playing a "regular" instrument. WE are the instrument, hence our fears and feelings play an important role in our performance, they influence us directly and sometimes they block us.
For that reason, is a priority for me to work with my students in that sense -besides the technical part- so you can feel comfortable and gain confidence, because I experimented this feelings myself.
Is crucial feeling free of playing and experimenting with our voice, as this is the best way to learn.
We can use our emotions in a positive way, giving ourselves permission to make mistakes and also to shine, we'll never know who can feel inspired with our path.
For this reason I always have in mind your voice and preferences to select songs that fit what we need to work at and also that you enjoy.
I help my students to develop their ear for music and intuition in parallel, and to make use of your imagination as a complement to pure technique.
In my classes, we vary among different exercises depending on your needs and the person;
·The classics: breathing and piano scales to exercise the chest and head voice.
·Exercises to train your musical ear and improvisation.
·Interpretation and phrasing according to the song.
·Pronunciation and phonetics in english, spanish and japanese (yes, I'm otaku :P).
·Getting used to the microphone.
·Practice to sing over real instruments (guitar & piano), not only bases.
As a complement, I can also introduce you to Ableton to create your own beats.
If you read all this, thank you for visiting and I hope we can get to meet soon!
Dalma :)
