I have lots of previous experience of teaching students English online and am also an experienced tutor in film studies, having taught university classes both in-person and online.
Please note that I offer lessons designed to improve your English conversation, and don't offer exam preparation lessons.
I'm TEFL certified and have several years experience of teaching English online. My work as a university film studies tutor has also added to my understanding of how best to support learners.
I am experienced at lesson planning and take a student-centred approach to teaching which emphasises moving at the student's pace and taking time to consolidate concepts which prove difficult to grasp.
I'm very patient and easy-going, and like to keep lessons informal so that students are relaxed.
I am keen to tailor sessions to the interests of the student, as it always easier to learn when you're engaging with something you care about!
I like to build our lessons around different types of media, allowing you to gain a broader experience of spoken and written English. In the past I have used TED Talks, newspaper and magazine articles, YouTube videos, and scenes from film and television as resources.
