Hello! I'm Shyam Popat, I am doing a degree in Computer Science from the University of Reading. I have A levels and GCSEs in both Computer Science and Math (and GCSE further math as well!). I have been tutoring for over a couple of years and I am dedicated to helping people who want to get 8's and 9's in their GCSEs, as well as A's and B's in their A levels. My lessons are designed to be both interactive and deeply student-centered, focusing not only on the core content but also on practical application and skill development. I believe that effective learning occurs when students are actively engaged and can connect new knowledge to real-world situations. Each lesson is carefully structured to create a seamless flow, beginning with a brief review of previously covered material to reinforce understanding and build confidence. From there, we move into the introduction of new topics, which I present through a combination of clear explanations, demonstrations, and interactive activities that encourage active participation. Depending on the subject matter, I integrate a variety of teaching tools and resources, including multimedia elements, real-life examples, and hands-on exercises. These resources are selected to align with the learning objectives of the session and to cater to different learning styles, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. My goal is to make each lesson as engaging and relevant as possible, ensuring that students not only grasp the concepts but also see their practical value. Whilst I hold a certification in Math and Computer Science GCSE and A levels, as well as experience in teaching, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students of varying levels, from beginners to advanced learners. My approach is always tailored to the individual needs of each student. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust my methods to suit their unique learning styles, whether that involves more visual aids, interactive discussions, or practice exercises. One of the aspects of teaching that I find most rewarding is witnessing the progress of my students. I take pride in the success stories that have emerged from my classes, such as one of my students achieving an 9 in Math and another student of mine achieving an 8 in Computer Science. These experiences not only highlight the effectiveness of my teaching methods but also reinforce my commitment to helping each student reach their full potential. What truly sets my lessons apart is the personalized attention and support that I provide. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to ask questions and explore new ideas. I believe that learning should be a positive and enjoyable experience, and I work hard to foster that in every session.
