With a BACHELOR'S DEGREE in vocal performance (4.0 GPA) and currently studying for my MASTER'S, my curiosity drove me deep into the technical and anatomical aspects of singing – how our voice ACTUALLY works.
My Research reveals that there's only ONE correct vocal technique, the one connected to our natural anatomical function. All of the greatest singers have mastered it, they may only have different NAMES or APPROACHES to it. But there is nothing new under the sun, humans sang this way since ANCIENT times; it's only more recently that this understanding sometimes feels like a 'lost art'.

• A Well Educated Ear:
I obsessively trained my ear to detect the subtle nuances of vocal technique because I figured that before a singer knows what good singing FEELS like, the singer should be able to HEAR it.
This makes a well-educated ear the SECOND most important tool a singer must have.
• Historical Insight:
My fascination also led me to study the HISTORY OF VOCAL MUSIC. Understanding HOW techniques and styles developed over time – and more importantly, WHY – provides invaluable insight and added the THIRD essential tool to my collection.

Another question that arose early was ‘How do we humans PERCEIVE MUSIC?’.
My research revealed that the way music is often taught can be COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.
Recent scientific studies prove this, but many may not be aware. Modern science shows that old methods like the recognition of isolated intervals might not truly benefit the development of the musical ear.
