Hello! I'm Rt. I'm a certified ESL tutor and mentor with 5+ years experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels on both online and in-class setups. I also hold the International Baccalaureate (IB) Bilingual Diploma, having covered English Higher Level (HL) as part of the course content. Among others, my teaching focus areas include English for business, conversation, culture, grammar and travel purposes. I am therefore the perfect help for learners interested in picking up reading, listening, writing and spoken English skills, whilst building the necessary confidence to produce these skills in real-world situations.
I provide a lot more than an English language tutoring service for my students; my approach to teaching is underpinned by a student-centered classroom management philosophy which caters to personal, cultural and situational nuances to create safe, fun and engaging lessons that foster deep and meaningful relations between my students and me. I encourage and promote learners’ active participation and open communication during lessons, according to need.
Furthermore, I have experience teaching learners with varying special needs such as sight impairment and partial deafness; this has enabled me to develop diverse teaching strategies that cater to different levels of learning abilities and preferences among students through emphasis on use of tactile, auditory, role-playing and various visual aids in preparing for lessons.
Finally, using both implicit and explicit continual assessment during lessons and for homework – whilst putting in place appropriate remedial measures upon shortfall – has proved a crucial component of my quality-assured teaching style.
