My name is Tanki and I come from Lesotho, in Southern Africa. I am a certified TEFL/TESOL tutor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and Professional Communication.
I have experience teaching English to learners of all ages, where I assisted them with homework and supplemented their education with after-school lessons in grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary building, and punctuation, ultimately leading them to achieve great marks at school.
I find great joy in seeing students’ progress and become confident and proficient in the language. I enjoy discussing exploratory material such as literature, music, culture, art, film, and current events. These enable my students to practice their English abilities while expanding their curiosity, building their cultural awareness, and broadening their perspectives.
As a teacher, I strive for excellence at all times; hence, my results-driven and student-centered approach. I create an inclusive, participatory, collaborative, and supportive learning environment—a safe haven for making mistakes and learning from them.
I use a relaxed approach to teaching, incorporating real-life situations, Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), role-playing, task-based learning, and audiolinguialism, among others. I value learner feedback and am always willing to go the extra mile to meet the learners’ goals.
When I am not in the classroom, I am probably somewhere traveling, in a new restaurant trying fresh cuisine, reading a new book, writing, attending motivational and self-development discourses, watching a newly released film, visiting a flea market, trying my hand at a new recipe, and my newfound hobby—knitting!
