Tobi
My name is Tobi, I have tutored math since my senior year of high school in 2005 and passed the AP Calculus exam in 2006. I have also tutored financial accounting since 2018. I have earned both bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University, San Bernardino.
I have experience tutoring math concepts like multiplication, long division, decimals, proportions and percentages, inequalities, linear expressions, systems of equations, exponents, logarithms, radical expressions, perimeter, area volume and surface area of geometric figures, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, Pythagorean theorem and other math concepts in Arithmetic, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry.
I tutor concepts in accounting like the accounting equation, T-accounts, journal entries, ledger postings, trial balances, financial statement preparation, cash flow (direct and indirect), inventory valuation (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average & Specific Identification), receivables/payables, bad debts, bonds, asset acquisition, depreciation and disposal, petty cash & bank reconciliation, partnership accounting, and stockholder equity accounting amongst others.
I typically conduct my lessons from a place of patient exploration by ascertaining what students understand and what they need help with. I then try to connect what they understand to areas of challenges so that lessons can be brought to educationally sound conclusions. I also use audio-visual aids in helping students understand concepts better.
